Amy Baltzell

As one of the country's leaders in Performance Coaching, Dr. Amy Baltzell joined Colby Athletics in 2018 to advance the department in the area of Performance Psychology. She is an experienced high performance and well-being coach for athletes, coaches, executives and musicians. She provides individual sessions, small group sessions and team workshops to our Colby athletes.

Dr. Baltzell is a CMPC-AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant via the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). She served in the presidential roles for AASP, 2016-2019. Her notable books include The Power of Mindfulness (2018), Mindfulness and Performance (2016), and Living in the Sweet Spot: Preparing for Performance in Sport and Life (2011).  Dr Baltzell has delivered keynote talks and workshops in Canada, England, The Netherlands, Sweden, and across the United States.  

As an elite athlete, Dr. Baltzell was a member of the US 1992 Olympic Rowing Team in Barcelona, Spain. She also competed on the professional all-Women's Sailing Team, America's Cup 1995.
