Williamstown, Mass. - On Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, the Colby College track and field teams traveled to Williams College to compete in the 2026 NESCAC Championships. The Men's team secured a sixth-place finish overall with 56 points, while the Women's team placed 10th with a total of 22 points.
The women's team was highlighted by a second-place performance in the 4x400m relay, where the squad of
Alex Hermsdorf,
Charlotte Brake-Hoffman,
Olivia Doherty, and
Kaitlyn Ewald crossed the line in 3:45.37.
Simone Waheed led the Mules in the short sprints, posting times of 11.67 in the 100m and 24.41 in the 200m.
Kaitlyn Ewald added a strong showing in the 400m with a time of 56.53, while
Olivia Doherty clocked a 2:12.10 in the 800m. In the field,
Josie Hopkins contributed with a 5.45m mark in the long jump and a total of 3,751 points in the heptathlon.
The men's side featured two individual conference champions.
Lexington Lehnert took home the title in the pole vault by clearing 4.90m, and
Levi Biery won the 400m hurdles with a dominant time of 51.80.
Jackson Coelho earned All-NESCAC honors in the 400m, finishing third in a school-record time of 47.58, while also recording a 1:53.75 in the 800m. Sam Graubart followed closely in the 400m with a fifth-place finish (48.45). Additionally, the 4x800m relay team of
Eli Ziegler,
Liam McGoldrick,
Derk Wolvius, and
Henry Reichle placed fourth overall, finishing in 7:45.58.
Colby will head to Springfield College next weekend, May 1-2, to compete in the New England Division III Championships.
