Mules Cross Country Caps Strong Season Ahead of NESCAC Championships at Middlebury

Waterville, Maine — The Colby Men's and Women's Cross Country teams wrap up their regular 2026 season with strong momentum, setting their sights on postseason action this upcoming weekend. Throughout the fall, both squads demonstrated remarkable depth across competitive New England fields, constantly testing themselves against regional and national powerhouse programs.

Colby kicked off its fall schedule in Brunswick at the Maine State Meet, where the men secured third place out of 12 teams and the women placed fourth out of 11. The Mules then traveled to Northfield, Minnesota, for the high-caliber DIII Pre-Nationals hosted by Carleton College. Against a premier national field, the men claimed a strong 14th-place finish out of 35 teams, while the women earned a 24th-place result in the 35-team field. October brought two final crucial tune-ups ahead of Championship season. At the NEICAAA Championships in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, the women placed 16th overall against a mix of Division I, II, and III competition. Both teams then delivered standout performances to close out the regular season at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 17, where the men surged to a impressive 7th-place finish out of 33 teams, and the women posted a strong 14th-place finish in a deep 28-team field.

With the regular season in the books, both squads now turn their attention to Middlebury for the 2026 NESCAC Championship on Saturday, October 31. The men's race kicks off at 10:00 AM, followed by the women's race at 11:00 AM. Fans can follow all the action live via the video stream and live stats.
