Waterville, Maine - With both the Men's and Women's NESCAC Swimming & Diving Championships now concluded, the Mules came away with 12 total All-Conference awards, the highest total since the Mules had 13 in 2005. All-NESCAC awards are given out to the top three relays and individual finishers for each event.
The women had three relays earn All-NESCAC status including winning the 200 Medley relay as well as placing top-3 in the 400 Medley and the 200 Freestyle. Individually for the women's team,
Alexis Coates led the way totaling three All-Conference awards winning the 50 and placing second in the 100, and 200 backstroke events.
Kellen Mottl snagged two All-NESCAC awards winning both the 50 and 100 breaststroke including setting a new NESCAC record for the 50 breaststroke event.
Avery Rappaport finished out the women's individual All-Conference awards after claiming victory in the three meter dive event.
On the men's side of competition,
Brandon Xiong claimed All-NESCAC status in both the 50 and 100 backstroke after claiming the top spot in the 50 and placing third in the 100.
Brendan Kirberger had an All-Conference showing as well placing third in the 1650 freestyle.
The women's team will now look towards the NCAA Championships taking place March 18th through 21st in Indianapolis. Stay tuned for more information.
