Matt Brisotti to Lead Colby Men’s Tennis Program

The championship coach brings a track record of rapid program elevation and elite recruiting

Matt Brisotti, a coach with a proven history of guiding collegiate programs to national prominence, has been named as the new head coach of the Colby Men's Tennis Program. Most recently serving as head men's and interim women's coach at the University of Chicago, Brisotti cemented his status as a premier coach in Division III tennis by leading the Maroons to NCAA National Championships in 2024 and 2026.

"We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the Colby Athletics family," said Amanda DeMartino, Harold Alfond Director of Athletics. "Matt has proven himself at every level of collegiate tennis, culminating in two NCAA Team National Championships. His relentless drive for excellence, commitment to elite recruiting, and track record of holistic student-athlete development make him the ideal leader to elevate our men's tennis program within the NESCAC."

Brisotti, a standout collegiate player at Drew University in Madison, N.J., has a coaching philosophy that highlights effective communication, a positive environment, and mutual trust and support among teammates and coaches.

At the University of Chicago, he holds the highest win percentage in school history with an 81-8 (.910) overall record in the men's program. Under his guidance, UChicago student-athletes have earned 12 All-American honors, 11 NCAA National Qualifier spots, four Academic All-America selections, and two University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year Awards. In 2026, Brisotti was named both the UAA Men's and Women's Tennis Coach of the Year by the University Athletic Association and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Central Region Men's Coach of the Year.

"I would like to thank Amanda DeMartino and the entire search committee for this incredible opportunity, as well as support from Senior Vice President Matt Proto and President David A. Greene," said Brisotti. "What stood out the most throughout this process was the alignment across the entire College. At Colby there is a passion and energy for pursuing excellence in Division III athletics, and there is a true belief that even the most ambitious goals can be achieved here on Mayflower Hill. I greatly look forward to leading the men's tennis program and building it into one of the premier teams in Division III."

Prior to the University of Chicago, Brisotti led the California Institute of Technology to a program-record No. 11 national ranking and secured the team's first-ever second-place finish in the competitive Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Brisotti has also been head coach at Hamilton College and Drew University, where he was named 2017 Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. Additionally, he has held coaching roles at the College of St. Elizabeth and the University of Mary Washington, as well as Division I administrative experience as Director of Tennis Operations at Arizona State University.

Brisotti will begin his coaching responsibilities ahead of the upcoming fall season.
