The Colby Men's Swimming and Diving team posted strong performances in their annual meet vs Bowdoin and Bates. The meet was scored as a double dual meet and the Mules beat Bowdoin 167-94 and lost to #22 Bates 180-108. This was the last meet before the NESCAC championships and the Mules took advantage of the opportunity with some fast swims.
Brandon Morrison led the way as he won the 200 butterfly and in the process reset the school record he set last year. He was also victorious in the 100 butterfly with the second fastest time ever swum in school history.
Brendan Kirberger also won 2 events as he was victorious in both the 500 Freestyle and 1000 Freestyle. His time in the 500 also reset the 1st year record that he had broken earlier this year. In addiotion,
Amaan Siddiqui also reset his 1st year record in the 200 Freestyle where he finished 2nd overall.Â

Alex Ruckel-Bekefi and Morrison had the 3rd fastest swim in school history to start off the meet. Xiong would also go on to post the 2nd fastest swim in school history in the 100 Freestyle.Â

It was a great meet for the Mules and gets them ready for the NESCAC Championship Championships Feb 19th-22nd. The meet will be at Colby and begins on Thursday night at 7:00 pm and runs all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday with prelims starting at 10:00 am and finals at 6:00 pm (5:30 on Sunday)
