Waterville, Maine - The Colby Men's Basketball team put together a dominant first half and never looked back, earning a 64–52 home win over the Williams Ephs Friday night in the Margaret M. Crook Center. The Mules improve to 15–6 overall and 3–4 in NESCAC play.
Colby came out firing, closing the first half with a controlling 40–15 lead behind hot shooting and stifling defense.
Dan Civello powered the early surge, scoring 10 of his game-high 22 points in the first half on 4-for-7 shooting and two makes from beyond the arc. Colby's defense held the Ephs to just 20.7% shooting in the opening period, including 1-for-15 from three.
Williams battled in the second half, shooting 40.7% to close the gap, but Colby's balanced offense and control on the glass kept the visitors at arm's length.
Theo Pow finished with a near double-double, posting ten points and a game-high 9 rebounds.
Sam Hinman added eight points while
Mason Dobie provided a spark off the bench with nine points. Colby out rebounded Williams 44–28 and scored 38 points in the paint, leveraging physicality inside to maintain its lead throughout.
The Mules continue conference play against Middlebury Saturday at 3:00pm.
