Waterville, Maine — Colby scored four unanswered goals and used a strong defensive effort to shut out Thomas 4-0 on Monday night.
Ruth Collins opened the scoring for the Mules before McKay Allain added another goal to give Colby a 2-0 advantage. Christina Sweeney and Alex Hood added goals in the second half, with Nora Foley assisting on Sweeney's goal and Siena Brackett assisting on Hood's.
Colby controlled possession and generated 10 penalty corners to Thomas' four. The Mules also held Thomas to one save-worthy shot, while Colby goalkeeper Ginna Jacoby made one save to preserve the shutout.
The victory improves Colby to 6-4 overall and 1-4 in the NESCAC. The Mules hit the field again this Saturday for a conference match up against Wesleyan University.
