Middletown, Conn. — Colby battled throughout Saturday's contest against Wesleyan but came up short in a 4-2 loss. The Mules found the back of the net twice and continued to compete offensively, looking to close the gap against the Cardinals. Colby is now 5-5 overall and 1-5 in the NESCAC.
Colby responded to Wesleyan's opening goal with a score from Ruth Collins to keep the Mules within reach. After Wesleyan extended its advantage, Colby continued to fight, with Bridget Everett adding another goal to give the Mules a second scoring contribution. Despite the offensive effort, Colby was unable to overcome the deficit.
The Mules recorded seven shots, including five on goal, and added two saves defensively. Colby continued to look for scoring opportunities and showed persistence against a Wesleyan team that recorded 20 shots. Despite the result, the Mules demonstrated their ability to generate offense and compete through the final whistle.
