Colby Volleyball Set for Postseason NESCAC Tournament Following Dominant Season

Waterville, Maine — Coming off a historic 2025 season that featured an NCAA Regional Championship and an Elite Eight appearance, eighth-ranked Colby Volleyball added another stellar chapter to its program history in 2026. The Mules powered through a rigorous fall schedule, compiling an impressive 19-3 overall record and a 8-2 mark in NESCAC play to secure a premier position in the conference standings heading into the postseason.

Head Coach Lindsay Johnson's squad set the tone early in September with a statement sweep at the prestigious East-West Classic hosted by Emory University in Atlanta. Colby opened the year by battling past #16 Washington University in St. Louis (3-2), defeating #18 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (3-1), and sweeping host #17 Emory (3-0) on back-to-back days. The Mules carried that elite momentum into conference play, earning road victories over Trinity (3-1), Connecticut College (3-0), and rival Bowdoin (3-1), while establishing Margaret M. Crook Center as a fortress with dominant home sweeps of Maine Maritime, UMass Boston, UNE, and Southern Maine. October brought high-stakes matchups against national competition, highlighting the home stretch with a thrilling 3-1 victory over #4 Wesleyan, alongside clean 3-0 home sweeps over Amherst, Hamilton, Middlebury, and non-conference foes Thomas College and Lasell.

Several Mules also reached impressive individual career milestones throughout the fall season. The thrilling 3-1 home victory over #4 Wesleyan highlights when setter Jordan Lee reached a major milestone by recording her 1000th career service ace. Two-time AVCA All-American senior Brady Moseley etched her name into program history by recording her 1,000th career kill and picking up her 1,000th career dig against Endicott. Standout middle blocker Evelyn Kunde hit .326 over the season and earned NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors after a series of stellar performances at the net. Junior libero Reese Loyd anchored the backline with unmatched serve-receive consistency and career-defining defensive play throughout the past season, reaching a milestone of 1000 career digs within the last week of NESCAC play.

Colby's success was driven by decorated leadership across the entire roster. Returning two-time AVCA All-American middle blocker Cyanne Jones earned All-NESCAC and AVCA All-Region honors alongside senior setter Gabby Grujic (317 assists). Partnering with Sydney DeProfio (299 assists), Grujic orchestrated an offense that led the NESCAC in both kills per set (13.39) and assists per set (12.45), while Brianna Hazak (163 kills, 25 aces) and Kendall Glover provided relentless pursuit as a middle blocker.

With the regular season in the books, the Mules turn their focus toward the NESCAC Tournament. First serve is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. inside the Margaret M. Crook Center in Waterville, Maine, as Colby aims for its third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid. Fans can follow alongside the action using the live video stream and live stats linked on the Colby Athletics site.
