Waterville, ME - Looking to rebound after a challenging stretch, the Mules rose to the occasion with a commanding performance against Saint Lawrence. In a matchup that has tested Colby in previous seasons, the Women's Squash Team delivered a dominant showing across all nine lines.
Colby set the tone early in the first round of play, as Reshika Rajarathinam '28, Gigi McWhorter '29, and Maggie Motch '28 each secured opening victories. Rajarathinam and McWhorter were both able to dispatch their opponents in decisive fashion, wrapping up their matches in under 20 minutes. Competing at the number three position this weekend, Motch faced a skilled opponent and dropped the second game before responding and closing out the match with strong 11–4 and 11–3 third and fourth games.
Momentum continued in the second round, with Laavanya Kugan '26, Haley Coon '28, and Amanda Miller '26 all earning straight-game victories to extend the Mules' lead. In the final round, Tori Thill '28 dominated her opponent in a commanding 3–0 win, while Abhisheka David '26 battled through one of the most competitive matches of the day. David prevailed in four games, posting scores of 11–8, 13–11, 12–14, and 11–9 in an intense and physical contest. Rounding out the sweep, Pepper Claytor '27 earned her first win of the season after returning from abroad, rebounding from a narrow 14–12 first-game loss to claim a four-game victory.
The win highlighted Colby's grit, composure, and ability to close out matches across the lineup. The Colby Women's Squash Team returns to action next Saturday for a CBB matchup and Senior Night at home against Bates.
