Alpine Set to Host Colby Carnival to Begin the Season

Waterville, Maine - The Colby Alpine Skiing Team will kickoff the 2026 campaign this Friday and Saturday, January 16th and 17th, at Sugarloaf Mountain hosting the Colby Carnival. Competition will begin on day one with the giant slalom event followed by the slalom the next day.

After qualifying five for the NCAA Championships last year and placing three in the top-30, the Mules will look to have yet another successful season in 2026. The last time Colby qualified five athletes for the NCAA Championships in Alpine Skiing was back in the 2014-2015 season. Last years All-Americans Harrison Digangi (First Team, Slalom) and Carissa Cassidy (Second Team, Slalom) return to the team this season for their junior and senior years. The team is joined by a first-year class of six (two women, four men) who will look to make an impact on the program right away.

Colby is led once again by Eric Harlow, now in his sixth year as the Head Coach of Colby Men's and Women's Alpine Skiing.

"We had an outstanding final preparation block focused on quality terrain, hard snow, and purposeful training," stated Harlow. "The growth and early momentum we're seeing have us excited about what this group can do as the season unfolds."

Harlow is assisted by Waterville native Max Godomsky in his first season with the Mules. Godomsky was raised in the heart of Colby Athletics as his father served as the Head Alpine Ski Coach while his mother led the field hockey and women's lacrosse programs. Prior to Colby, Godomsky served as an Athletics Fellow at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, coaching U14 Alpine Skiing.
