Waterville, Maine - The 17th ranked Colby College Volleyball team is set to being their season next Tuesday, September 2, hosting Thomas College. Last year the Mules took care of the Terriers in three straight sets.
The team is coming off a historic season including a 25-4 overall record while going undefeated in conference play (10-0) over the course of the regular season. After battling in the NESCAC Championship match, the Mules earned an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005 advancing to the second round.Â
Head Coach
Lindsay Johnson, the 2024 AVCA Region 1 and NESCAC Coach of the Year, has continued to improve the team's record every season. She now enters her fifth season at the helm of the Mules and will look to bring Colby back to the NCAA Tournament once again.Â
"I am excited and ready to get 2025 underway!" said Johnson. "We had a great season last year, but are hungry for more. Advancing to the NCAA tournament gave our team the experience of a true post-season and that experience has been informing our preparation for the start of a new schedule. We will be returning the full squad from 2024 and are adding a talented group of newcomers. The competitiveness in our gym will be unmatched, which will make our practices so much fun. The competition we see day in and day out of our own four walls will set the tone for the goals we are working towards together. Last year's experiences have shaped our vision and mentality for this upcoming season and we are fired up to show our progress."
With the full team returning this includes four All-NESCAC selections and three All-Americans inÂ
Brady Moseley '27 (Third Team),
LJ Grant '26 (Honorable  Mention) and
Cyanne Jones '28 (Honorable Mention).Â
Johnson is assisted by
Julie Hall who has been with the team since the spring of 2022 and
Emma Kuivila who enters her second season on Mayflower Hill following her playing career at Bethany College (WV).Â
