Julie Hall, a six-time CCIW Coach of the Year and four-time NCAA Division III Midwest Coach of the Year, joined the Colby Volleyball staff in the spring of 2022.
Over the course of Hall's career, she has coached 26 All-Americans and 94 All-Conference players.
Before Colby, Hall was the Head Coach at Elmhurst University where she became a Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame inductee. Colby's Head Coach Lindsay Johnson was a player under Hall at Elmhurst, as well as an assistant coach, the recruiting coordinator, eventually being designated the title of Associate Head Coach in 2012.
Hall captured her first CCIW title in 1998 and her teams went on to win eight CCIW Volleyball titles in 20 seasons. She guided the Bluejays to the NCAA Tournament on 13 occasions, including six straight appearances. When Hall gained her first win in the 2002 season, she surpassed Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame Inductee Bill Walton as Elmhurst’s winningest head coach in school history. Hall finished her time at Elmhurst with an impressive 583-333 record in 27 seasons, with seven Player of the Year honorees.
She has served as a clinician for volleyball camps at Wright State University, Ohio University and Miami University, as well as conducting high school camps throughout the Midwest.
As a high school coach (prior to her arrival at Elmhurst in 1994) at Piqua High in Ohio, Hall's teams collected an overall 248-80 record (.756 winning percentage), won six league championships, advanced to six district championship games, made four regional appearances, and played in the 1992 and 1993 state title game all leading to her induction into the Piqua Hall of Fame. Hall was also a five-time District Coach of the Year and received the Ohio High School Coaches Association's Achievement Award twice.
She graduated from Ohio's Miami University with a bachelor's degree in physical education and health, and from the University of Dayton with a master's degree in supervision.
