ORONO, Maine - The Colby College softball team fell to the University of Maine 5-0 in a non-conference game at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex on Thursday night.
The University of Maine (8-29) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning off a sacrifice fly.
The Black Bears then plated three runs in the home half of the second before adding a run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single through the left side to count for the 5-0 victory.

KC DeSarno took the circle to start the game for Colby (10-10) and suffered the loss after allowing four earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts in 1.1 innings. Junior
Kathryne Clay gave up one earned run off two hits in 2.2 innings and freshman
Sophia Meade threw two scoreless innings with two punch outs.

The Mules return to action on Saturday at Tufts University for a New England Small College Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
