Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Colby Tops Trinity in Senior Day Game

Waterville, Maine. - Colby Women's Lacrosse had their Senior Day game today against Trinity College. The Mules trumped the Bantams 12-2, improving them to a record of 6-2 in NESCAC and 10-2 overall.

Colby secured the first goal of the game, but Trinity was quick to take advantage of a subsequent defensive lull to secure two goals within a minute and a half of each other. This would be the Mules' only defensive lull of the entire game. The Bantams' defense was just as strong as their offense in the first quarter, so Trinity had the lead at the end of the first quarter 2-1. Colby was quick to recover, though, securing six unanswered goals in the second quarter, including a string of three goals in as many minutes. The score was 7-2 at the half for the Mules. Both teams put on an outstanding defensive showing in the third quarter, with Colby only scoring twice and Trinity unable to score at all for a score of 9-2. In the fourth quarter, three well-spaced offensive maneuvers put Colby in a position to secure a comfortable win at a final score of 12-2.

Senior star Julia Jardina outdid herself, scoring half of Colby's goals. Stella Regan and Julia Maimonis each contributed two goals and an assist. Ainsley Dion controlled four draws and Kat Munter controlled three. Gretchen Biegel and Gisele Uva caused two turnovers each.

The Mules next face off against Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. at 7 pm on Tuesday, April 15.
