The Colby Women's Swimming and Diving team finished their season on Saturday with a 24th place showing at the NCAA Division III Championships meet in Greensboro, NC. It was the highest finish the team has recorded in 17 years and concluded a year in which the Mules recorded one of their best seasons in school history. At the championships 3 school records were set and 7 team members earned Honorable Mention All American status which is the most ever in team history.Â
On Saturday Colby had swimmers were represented in every event that was competed.
Alexis Coates set her second school record of the meet with a time of 2:02.91 in the 200 backstroke for a 24th place finish. In the 100 Free
Eliza Marco finished 26th and in the 200 breaststroke
Kellen Mottl finished 28th. The 400 free relay team of Marco,
Gabriella Landau,
Lily Moy and
Zoe Buzzelli finished out the meet with a 17th place finish.
In addition, Landau became just the 6th swimmer in school history to earn All-American status for at least 3 years at the championships.
