Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's Lacrosse team will open their 2025 campaign on the road Saturday as they visit the Cardinals of Wesleyan University. Colby competes in the highly competitive NESCAC, a conference that lists five teams inside the top-20
USILA Division III poll, including Wesleyan at No. 7.
Jake Bernhardt, the Jack Sandler Memorial Men's Lacrosse Head Coach, enters his second season at the helm of the Mules.
After graduating only seven players a year ago, Colby will be led by a senior class that consists of 12 returners, including
Bennett Goller who led the Mules with 20 assists last year. Add in his 19 goals for 39 points, Goller ranked second in points only to current sophomore
Gavin Rothenberg. Rothenberg made an impact immediately for the Mules last year tallying 32 goals, good for 13th in the conference in goals per game. With the return of junior
Cormac O'Neill (18 goals, 19 assists in 2024), the Mules return their top three scorers from a year ago.
Goaltender
Will Heisler started 11 games in net last year for the Mules and returns for his junior campaign.
15 first-years join the 2025 group hailing from across the continent (Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Washington).
Saturday's opener in Middletown, Conn. kicks off at 1:00pm and can be streamed at
