Hartford, CT. - Colby College faced off against Trinity College, falling to the Bantams 67-60. The Mules are now 6-3 in NESCAC, 12-10 overall.
The Mules had a shaky start, only scoring 10 points to the Bantams' 17. Both offense and defense picked up for Colby, scoring 15 while holding Trinity in the single digits. The score was 26-25 at the half for Trinity. Unfortunately for the Mules, the Bantams came back into the second half swinging, racking up a game-high 22 points, while the Colby struggled to keep up with 16 points. The third quarter was a battle of wills as Trinity matched point for point with Colby's last-ditch effort, each team scoring 19 points. Trinity ultimately came out on top with a final score of 67-60.
Amelia Hanscom stole the show tonight both offensively (23 points & two assists) and defensively (three steals, a block, and three defensive rebounds).
Kate Olenik also accumulated 23 points, six rebounds, and a steal.
Talia Thompson led the team in rebounds with seven and also contributed a steal and an assist.Â
The Mules stay in CT tomorrow for a 3 pm match against Wesleyan in Middletown.Â
