Waterville, Maine - The Colby Women's Ice Hockey team rematched Trinity College this afternoon. After an intense 60 minutes of play, the Mules came out on top with a 3-0 win.
After yesterday's exciting win, Colby came into the game ready to repeat their success. Trinity's intensity gave the Mules four power play opportunities to take advantage of. Despite strong offensive possession, Colby couldn't break the 0-0 tie during the first period. Not shortly after and 5:30 into the second period,
Molly Lefebvre opened the scoring which put Mules ahead at 1-0. With another power play opportunity 10 minutes later,
Georgia Pettygrove took advantage and doubled Colby's lead. The Mules managed to kill off a trinity power play and
Mandy Busky stayed strong in net with 16 saves so far into the game. With 20 minutes remaining, the Mules maintained their high energy and secured two additional power play opportunities. Capitalizing on offensive pressure and solid defense,
Beth Sinson scored to extend the Mules' lead to 3-0 with 6:17 left in the period. Busky's 22 saves helped her shut out the Bantams and secure the victory.
The Mules return next weekend to face Amherst College in Waterville.
