Medford, Mass. - The Colby College Women's Soccer team faced No. 1 Tufts in the NESCAC semifinals this afternoon. The Mules battled hard and despite a strong comeback from a two-goal deficit, they fell to the Jumbos 3-2.
Tufts established their lead early, striking just 10 minutes into the first half and doubling it at 17:19. However, the Mules refused to back down. At 24:22,
Abigail Jarvi found the back of the net off an assist from
Amanda Schneider, cutting the deficit to 2–1. The remainder of the half saw intense back and forth play, with Colby totaling seven shots and four corners. Goalkeeper
MK Marshall recorded one save as the Mules headed into halftime trailing by one. Coming out strong in the second half, Colby wasted no time. Just under three minutes in, at 47:39,
Ella Caraluzzi launched a rocket into the top left corner to equalize the match at 2-2. The Mules continued to press offensively, creating several offensive opportunities. At 77:29, Tufts regained the lead. Despite Colby's relentless efforts in the final minutes, the Jumbos held on for the victory. Goalkeeper
Sadie Gardner made three saves in the half.
This concludes the Mules' run in the NESCAC playoffs for the 2024-2025 season. Despite the tough loss, Colby demonstrated the resilience needed to challenge the one of the best Division III ranked Women's Soccer team.
