Colby Hosting Conn. College in NESCAC Quarterfinals

Waterville, Maine - The sixth nationally ranked Colby College Volleyball team is headed into the NESCAC postseason for the fourth straight year and is marked as the two seed for the second time in three years. After defeating Conn. College on the road just four days ago (3-1), the Mules will welcome the seventh seeded Camels to Mayflower Hill this Saturday, November 8th for a quarterfinals matchup. 

Last year Colby ended the regular season defeating Conn. College as well as facing them in the first round of postseason action defeating them 3-0 in both matchups. The Mules hold a 2-1 advantage over the Camels in NESCAC tournament history. 

This season Colby has been dominant posting a 21-2 overall record including wins over three nationally ranked opponents. The team is currently ranked sixth in Division III according to both the NCAA power index and AVCA National rankings

Be on the lookout for junior Brady Moseley this Saturday who has the second most kills in the conference with 275 good for the third most points (306.5). Sophomore Cyanne Jones has been a force at the net this season with the third most blocks in the NESCAC (85). Junior Gabby Grujic, who hit her 1,000 assist milestone this season, has the fourth most assists in the conference recording 479. Lastly, sophomore Reese Loyd has been a huge defensive presence averaging 3.79 digs per set this season (303 total), the fifth best average in the NESCAC. 

Saturday's quarterfinal matchup is set for a 1:00pm start here in the Margaret M. Crook Center. Fans can follow alongside the action using the live stat and live video links as well as check out the NESCAC Championship Central page for more information. The winner will advanced to the semifinal round at the highest remaining seed taking place November 14th with the championship game to follow the next day. 

With a win in the quarterfinals, the Mules will make back-to-back appearances in the semifinals for the first time in team history.
