Waterville, Maine -
Adam Canfield, Assistant Director of Sports Information and Communications here at Colby College, has been selected alongside 29 other participants for the second class of the NCAA Division III Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program by the NCAA Division III Governance staff.
"We at Colby College are thrilled with Adam's selection to the Emerging Elite Program," said
Danny Noyes, Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and Digital Strategy. "We heard the inaugural run of the program last year was a huge success, and through Adam's hard work in his three years in our department he has been identified to participate in the program's second year.  It is a wonderful developmental opportunity for him in athletics communications and I'm sure Colby will benefit directly from the experience he gains."
Launched in 2024, the Athletic Communicators Emerging Elite Program is a professional development initiative hosted annually in December at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis. Created in partnership with D3SIDA and College Sports Communicators, the program is designed to elevate the next generation of athletic communication leaders in Division III. Participants engage in interactive sessions focused on leadership development, managing and growing a team, cross-department collaboration, and navigating the evolving landscape of college athletics communications. Thirty participants are selected each year and receive full funding to attend the program. Each institution and conference office may nominate up to two participants.
