Waterville, Maine - Following the success of the 2023-24 season securing the Northeast Conference Title for the third consecutive year and placing third for small college seven's at the CRC VIIS Nationals, Colby's own Annika Chiang-Boeckmann of the Women's Rugby team was selected to join the USA Rugby U23 Regional team.

The recent Colby graduate and All-American will compete in the U23 championship on the New England Free Jacks Academy team which is the regional all-star program. The USA Rugby U23 National All-Star Championship will take place June 28-30 @ New England Free Jacks Stadium in Quincy, Massachusetts. The tournament is a selection venue for the U23 national team, an important age grade that develops players for the USA Women's National Team. New England will take on Mid-Atlantic at 1:00pm Friday, June 28th for their first matchup of the tournament.

On top of this accomplishment, six members of the Colby Women's Rugby club team were named Academic All-Americans by National Collegiate Rugby (NCR). Katelyn Drew, Leila Gerry, Ginny Lash, Katie Norwood, Eva Schiffman and Ash Wetty.

This annual program recognizes high performing student athletes across college rugby. To qualify as a Scholastic All-American, student athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic year and be rostered for 50% of the Fall 15s A-side matches or rostered for 50% of the A-side Spring 7s tournaments. This selective group of Scholastic All Americans represents about 1 out of 18 student athletes competing in college rugby.
