Colby Rugby Secures Northeast Conference Title

Easton, Mass. - The Colby Women's Rugby Team clinched the Rugby Northeast Conference title at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. for the third consecutive year.

Despite a slow start to the season, the team rallied together to play some of their best rugby to date. Their performance was notable, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament, including dual shutout victories against Middlebury, a decisive win against DII Providence College, and a resounding 14-0 win in the finals against a highly competitive Keene State side.

Buoyed by their recent success, CWRFC is headed back to the National Collegiate Rugby Championship in Washington, D.C., from April 26-28. Following their performance at conference championships, they are confident that this year presents their best chance yet to bring home the national title. Their roster is stronger than ever, featuring two All-Americans—Annika Chiang-Boeckmann and Caitlin Bracken—and two Rugby Northeast All-Star players—Lucy Barest and Leila Gerry. Additionally, their strong senior leadership has brought the team together, bolstering their team spirit both on and off the field.

The team looks forward to being able to compete on a national stage again and participate in the largest collegiate rugby tournament in the country and hopefully bringing home a title for the Mules.
