Virginia Beach, Va. - The 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships opened Friday in Virginia Beach, Va. Colby had athletes competing in three events, and the Mules made their presence known on the national stage. Â

Kristina Pizzi entered the event ranked fifth nationally. In Friday's qualifier, the unit posted the top time and moved their ranking to #1 heading into Saturday's final. Eight relay teams advanced. Â
Erin Daugherty entered her 60m Hurdles event ranked 17th. With a personal best and a new school record, the junior smashed expectations placing 9th to be honored with second team All American status. Mejico also raced individually, joining Daugherty on the All American second team after posting a 14th place finish in the 400m. Daugherty and Mejico were both the second NESCAC athlete in their respective events.
"Our mission has been to climb up the performance lists all year," said Head Track & Field Coach David Cusano. "We are here at the NCAA Championships and are doing just that. With a school record on day 1 and finals of 4x400m tomorrow we are proud and excited to continue carrying the mission forward."Â

Day Two
Virginia Beach, Va. - Following yesterday's top qualifying time, the Mules competed in their last event of the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships Saturday with the 4x400m relay final.

Kristina Pizzi secured a 4th in the country finish with a time of 3:48.64 (Colby record) to earn All-American recognition.
The Mules will now transition towards the outdoor track & field season to build off of their outstanding success during the indoor season.Â
