Successful End to NESCACs for Men's Swimming and Diving

Day 1&2
Waterville, Maine - The first two days of competition for Colby Men's Swimming and Diving has commenced at home. 

NESCACs are historically packed with tough competition, but our Mules had a great start to the long weekend of racing. Here are some of the highlights so far…Neil Mortimer got first place in the 50 Fly Prelims, while teammate Brandon Xiong tied for second in the 50 Back Prelims. In the 200 IM Prelims, Alexander Maclennan placed 7th, while Mortimer had another great race in the 50 Free with a 4th place finish in the 50 Free Prelims. Zane Chutkow beat out Williams for first in the 50 Breast Swim Off. In the 200 Free Relay, Colby's Mortimer, Xiong, Chang, and Rehkopf had an impressive third place finish. Mortimer kept things going and got first place in the 50 Fly Final. Xiong once again had an excellent race and got second in the 50 Back Final. MacLennan had a good final with a top 10 finish in the 200 Free Relay. Mortimer also got a 6th place finish in the 50 Free Final, which was stacked with tough competition. For the One Meter Diving Finals, Ivan Knoepflmacher and Tate Weltzin both had top ten performances. Colby's Mortimer, Xiong, Rehkopf, and MacLennan finished the day with an awesome fifth place finish.

Colby will head into day three with 440 points, putting them in the 5th spot out of 11 teams. 


Day 3
Waterville, Maine - Another great day of NESCACs for Colby Men's Swimming and Diving are in the books. In the 200 Medley Relay, Xiong, Mortimer, Zhu, Wiater placed an impressive fourth right behind Bowdoin. In the 100 Butterfly Finals, Mortimer also placed fourth ahead of Tufts. Rehkopf had a top ten finish in the 200 Freestyle Final, while Xiong also got a top ten finish in the 100 Backstroke Final. In the 3 Meter Diving Final, Tate Weltzin placed eighth in the Championship Final. Colby remains in a good spot with 682.50 points going into Sunday's Competition. This keeps them in the 5th spot out of 11 teams.


Day 4
Waterville, Maine - The final day of NESCACs has wrapped up, and the Mules showed up finishing 5th out of the 11 NESCAC institutions. The four-day competition weekend was a great success, and their eyes are set on NCAAs around the corner. Here are the results in the championship finals from this afternoon…in the 200 Back Final, Colby's Spencer Cohen got an impressive 4th place! Carson Rehkopf took 8th in the 100 Free Final, and Skylar Yoham claimed 7th in the 200 Butterfly Final. Lastly, Colby's "A" team got 5th out of 22 groups in the 400 Free Relay to conclude the action packed weekend.
