Waterville, ME - The Colby College Mules (6-2-1, 3-2-0) lost to the Connecticut College Camels (5-3-1, 4-2-0) by a score of 6-3 in their Saturday afternoon matchup.
Bobby Landry scored two goals but the Mules were unable to take down the Camels.
The first period was scoreless for both teams. The Mules were assessed two two-minute minors and Conn. College was assessed one.
The second frame was much more action packed. The Camels were able to take advantage of a power play and scored with 8:37 elapsed. They scored two more in quick succession, making the score 3-0 with 13:20 elapsed in the period. Colby was able to fight back with
Reese Farrell scoring on a power play.
Donovan O'Neil and
Connor Gallagher provided assists for the goal that took place at the 14:28 mark.
The Camels were able to open the third period with a shorthanded goal. Landry scored the first of his two goals at the 10:41 mark off of passes from
Matthew MacDonald and
Will Molson. Five minutes later, the Mules cut the lead to 4-3 when Landry scored his second goal of the contest.
Massimo Gentile and
Tyler Crist assisted Landry on the power play goal. However, the Camels were able to score two goals towards the end of the contest.
Adam Costley was in net for the Mules, saving 25 shots. Colby won the faceoff battle, 33-26.
The Mules will have an extended break before their matchup with Saint Anslem College on January 3, 2025 at 7:00 PM in Manchester, NH.
