New York, N.Y. - Colby faced off on the road against the #1 Bobcats of New York University Sunday, falling to NYU 90-56. The Mules are now 2-2 overall.
Colby had a bit of a rocky start following a strong offensive showing in the first quarter by the Bobcats, holding Colby at 12 while scoring 23 themselves, but the Mules were not ready to give up. The second quarter was the closest-scoring of the game, with Colby scoring 12 points and holding NYU to only 15. The score was 38-24 for the Bobcats heading into the second half. Unfortunately, the third and fourth quarters saw another strong offensive push by NYU, leading to an additional 52 points for the Bobcats while the Mules held steady at 17 and 15 points in the third and fourth quarters respectively, for a total of 32 points scored in the second half. Ultimately, the #1-ranked Bobcats earned their ranking, defeating the Mules 90-56.
Despite the loss, Colby's players had a lot of impressive showings.
Kate Olenik hit 100% of her free throws and three-pointers, scoring a total of 13 points.

Amelia Hanscom all also scored in the double digits, with Ibenegbu and Von Rumohr scoring 11 apiece and Hanscom scoring 10. Von Rumohr also had an impressive three steals and seven rebounds, while Hanscom led the team in rebounds with seven of her own.
The Mules' next match is on the road at the University of New England in Biddeford, ME, at 5 pm on Tuesday.
