Box Score Middlebury, Vt. - The Colby Women's Tennis team concluded their 2024-25 fall season over the weekend at the Middlebury Invitational. The event lasted over three days, hosting Colby, Middlebury, Skidmore, and Trinity.
The Mules participated in a hidden dual format that consisted of three singles and doubles matches against opposing teams. The three-day event began with impressive showings across the board for Colby, with the Mules winning five of their seven points across singles and doubles action on Friday. In doubles, sophomore Jade Finestone paired up with first-year Ella Novion, taking down their Middlebury opponents 7-5 at the #3 spot. Later in the afternoon, the Mules swept all four points against Skidmore, winning at all three doubles spots and a singles win. Junior captain Isabella Suk teamed up with sophomore Michaela Landry, defeating Skidmore opponents in dominant fashion, 6-1 at the #1 position. Junior captain Amelie Gal and sophomore Kendall Skulley also found success, defeating Skidmore opponents 6-4 at the #2 spot. Lastly, the freshman tandem of Abby Hess and Anna Rende were victorious against their Skidmore opponents at the #3 spot, winning 6-2. 
Throughout the next two days, Colby also found success in singles play. Amelie Gal won all three of her singles matches across the weekend, defeating Middlebury, Skidmore, and Trinity opponents, just dropping one set along the way. First-year Waka Aida was also victorious in singles play, defeating her Trinity opponent in convincing fashion, 6-3, 6-1 at the #3 spot. Finestone and Rende both had thrilling wins as well, defeating their Skidmore opponents 10-8 in a third-set match tiebreaker, at the #1 and #3 spots respectively. 
The Mules will return to action this spring for the dual team season, beginning in early March.Â
