Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team hosted Plymouth State University at the Jack Kelley Rink on Tuesday afternoon in their second matchup of the season. Colby downed Plymouth State 8-0, improving their overall record to 12-3-1.
NESCAC Player of the Week
Meg Rittenhouse started it early for the Mules, scoring her 13th goal of the season just 1:11 into the game.
Lily Wisniewski followed with another goal just 32 seconds later.
Beth Sinson added to the tally and then Wisniewski added her second of the game to give Colby a 4-0 lead going into the second period. Second period goals came from
Molly Lefebvre early in the period and
Alex Thomas late in the period. Colby's
Lauren Fraser and
Sophie Melsness scored a goal apiece in the third period to finish out the 8-0 win. The Mules shut down five Plymouth State power plays in today's win and
Mandy Busky earned her second shutout of the season.
The Mules will travel to Connecticut this weekend to take on the #13 ranked Trinity Bantams on Friday and Saturday.
