Hartford, Connecticut - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team traveled to Trinity College to take on the #13 Bantams in a Friday night NESCAC matchup. Trinity topped Colby 4-3 in a thrilling overtime game. Colby's record falls to 12-4-1 overall and 4-4-1 in NESCAC play.
The Mules got off to a tough start going down 2-0 in the first period. However, they came back with back to back goals by
Beth Sinson and
Maria Pierce early in the second period to tie the game at 2. Trinity responded with one more goal to make it 3-2 heading into the third.
Breanna Studley tied the game for the Mules midway through the third period, forcing the game into overtime. Colby battled hard in overtime with five shots on goal, but Trinity scored with 19 seconds remaining to end the game and win 4-3.
The Mules will stay in Hartford and rematch the Bantams tomorrow afternoon.
