Atlanta, GA- Colby College Women's Track and Field traveled to Emory University to compete in the Emory Spring Break Classic. The Mules finished 3rd out of 21 teams.
In the track events,
Fiona Mejico finished first in the Women's 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:02.79 earning her a #2 spot in school history along with a 2nd place finish in the Women's 400 Meters which gave her a #5 spot in school history. The Women's 400 Meters also had three other top-ten finishers in
Olivia Tomlin,
Olivia Doherty, and
Kristina Pizzi.
Erin Daugherty and
Haley Wims also showed out in the Women's 400 Hurdles with respective 2nd and 5th place finishes. In the Women's 800 Meters, freshman
Anna Mackey finished in 2nd place with a time of 2:20.14. The combined effort of
Olivia Tomlin,
Kristina Pizzi,
Anna Mackey, and
Olivia Doherty earned the Mules a second-place finish in the Women's 4x400 relay. In the field events,
Isabel Llach and
Kassie Brink earned a 3rd and 4th place finish in the Women's High Jump and the Women's Triple Jump.
Next Friday and Saturday, May 24th and 25th, Colby College Women's Track and Field will compete in the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open.
