Waterville, MAINE - The Colby Women's Lacrosse team returned to Bill Alfond Field this Monday for their first home game of the season against Plymouth State University (3-1 overall, 0-0 conference). The Mules secured their first win of the season with a final score of 19-8 which takes them to 1-3 while leading the Panthers to their first loss of the season setting their record to 3-1.
The Mules dominated from the very beginning by scoring five goals within the first five minutes of play and got up to seven to one lead by the end of the first quarter. Despite observing a slowdown from Colby in the second quarter when outscored by Plymouth 5-3, the Mules got back into action following halftime and triumphed during the third and final quarters.

Gianna Bruno had a strong performance tallying two goals and five assists. On her end,
Paige Saudek, the leading scorer of the game, locked in five new goals to her freshman record. Senior
Annie Eddy followed with four goals scored, as freshman Stella Reagan scored her first two goals as a Colby Mule. The recent game was also marked by strong defensive play from
Sarah Hearns who made a total of six saves.
The Colby Women's Lacrosse team will take on the Cardinals of Wesleyan University this upcoming Sunday, hosting their first NESCAC game of the season.
