Waterville, Maine - The Colby Women's Basketball team took down New England College Saturday in the opener of the Colby Tip Off Tournament on Mayflower Hill, 62-37.  The Mules improved to 3-1 while the Pilgrims fell to 2-3.  

Colby wasted no time jumping in front and padding a comfortable lead.  The hosts outscored NEC 18-8 in the first quarter and 16-5 in the second, taking a 34-13 lead into the break.  NEC showed some life opening the third frame, but the Mules continued to click on all cylinders with a 19-point fourth quarter to seal the sizable victory.  

First-year Kate Olenik led all scorers with 16 points, adding five rebounds and three steals.  Chelsea Ibenegbu also tallied in double-digits, connecting for 10 points and a game-high six rebounds.  

The Mules are back in action Sunday in the winners bracket to take on #13 Babson College for the trophy.  Tip off is slated for 3:00pm.
