Lowell, Mass. - The Colby Men's and Women's Crew teams put up a strong showing against UMass Lowell, Mass. Maritime and the Coast Guard Academy in Lowell, Mass. this weekend. The men's Varsity 8, composed of

Luca Krueger,

James Hayakawa, and led by coxswain
Alyssa West bested the Coast Guard Academy in the V8 finals, while the women's second varsity 8 matched the achievement, beating Coast Guard by just over two seconds in the womens 2V8 finals. The women's varsity 8, consisting of

Kat Specht finished a close second behind Coast Guard. The men's varsity 4 also raced to a fourth place finish in the men's V4 finals.
Coach
Emma Taylor said of the teams performances, "We were really proud of the growth the team showed from last week to this. The team handled the racing, tough elements and a new course really well. They were able to come out of it with more to work on, so we are looking forward to more growth next week!"
The Mules will race again next weekend against WPI, Ithaca, Trinity, Clark, Williams Smith, Connecticut College and UNH at Worcester, Mass.
