WORCESTER, Mass - Today, the Colby Women's Crew team had three boats compete in the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta. Minimal winds and sunny skies made for great racing conditions.
Two crews raced in the Women's Collegiate eight event. The Colby A boat of Shaya Leinberger '26, Kate Ward '28,
Ally Tecimer '29,
Eliza Nilson '26,
Zoe Dodge '26,
Zoey Honsel '28,
Dede Tindall '28,
Ellie Pohlig '26, and
Shannon Murray '28 finished the 4,000m race with a time of 15:38.1. This earned them an 8th place finish, within 7 seconds of the WPI crew ahead of them.
The Colby B boat of
Tara Gorman '27,
Katherine White '26,
Molly Garvey '28,
Ella Brochu '28,
Alena Rossi '28,
Erica O'Donnell '27,
Heidi Alexanderian '29, Isa Jurado '27, and
Hannah Colling '28 finished in 16:38.6. With this time, they found themselves in 18th place, 6 seconds ahead of Connecticut College.

Ellie Hyde '28,
Charlotte Haeffner '28,
Maya Ober '29, and
Fiona Gosk '29 raced in the Women's Collegiate four event. The four finished in 15th with a time of 19:48.9. The crew came off the water pleased with their performance. For the rowers, this race was the first of their college careers.
The Colby Women's Crew team is satisfied with their results this weekend, but leaves Quinsigamond hungry for more speed and excited about what the next three weeks of the fall season have in store.
Their next race is in two weeks at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. on Sunday, Oct. 19th.
