Brunswick, ME - The Colby College Women's Tennis Team fell to the Bowdoin Polar Bears on Wednesday, April 20th by a score of 6-3. The Mules got two points on the board automatically due to a lack of available players on the Bowdoin team, with #3 doubles and #6 singles not being played.
The Mules fell in the two doubles matches, with
Sam Riordan and
Sydney Landau falling in a closely contested match at #1 by a score of 8-6.
Lindsey Hernandez and
Caroline Kittle fell 8-5 at the #2 position, allowing the Polar Bears to even the overall score at 2-2.
Sam Riordan filled in for
Carly Levitz at #1, with the rest of the lineup moving up accordingly. The Polar Bears won at #1, #2, #3 and #4 singles in straight sets wins to clinch the match. The Mules got their only point at #5 singles, where
Katharine Dougherty scored a clean 6-2, 6-1 win to push her season singles record to 8-3.
