Box Score Medford, MA - The Colby College Women's Tennis Team lost to the Tufts Jumbos by a score of 8-1 on Saturday, April 23rd. The Mules struggled in the doubles, with both 2nd and 3rd doubles going the way of the Jumbos by 8-0 scorelines. Tufts took #1 doubles by a score of 8-2 to lead 3-0 heading into the singles.

The Jumbos dominated in the lower half of the lineup, with #4, #5, and #6 singles quickly going to Tufts to clinch the match. Sydney Landau had a hard fought fight at #2 singles, losing two very tight sets 6-3, 7-6(5) to a five-star recruit player. 

Sam Riordan scored a huge win at #1 singles, defeating her opponent 10-8 in the third set 10-point tiebreaker to get the Mules on the scoreboard with one point. Riordan relied on her flat, powerful groundstrokes and excellent fighting spirit to earn her biggest collegiate victory to date.
