Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Colby College Men's and Women's Track & Field team will be sending three athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships at the JDL Fast Track in North Carolina later this week. The trio couldn't be a more decorated group, as
Sharde Johnson,
Tyler Morris, and Sadé Greenidge head south to compete with the nation's best later this week.
Johnson is the reigning NCAA Division III Outdoor Track National Champion in the High Jump, and an All-American from the 2020 Indoor season. Last spring, she headed a talented group of Mules who competed in Greensboro, N.C. at the outdoor championships, jumping 5' 9.25" to claim the national crown. Sadé Greenidge was at the spring championships as well, as a member of Colby's 4x100 Relay team that raced to 7th place, earning All-American status. For the indoor meet, she will compete solo in the 200m.
Tyler Morris makes up the final member of the squad. The 2021 NESCAC Performer of the Year for Cross Country became a 2x All-American in November at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. He will compete in the 5000m, an event he already has the school record for.
Competition is slated to kick off Friday as Greenidge will enter the 200m preliminaries at 3:50pm EST, and Morris will take to the track for the 5000m at 4:55pm EST. Johnson will compete in the High Jump Saturday at 2:00pm, and the 200m finals are set for Saturday at 4:10pm.
