Williamstown, Mass. - The Colby's Men's Lacrosse team entered the week with a trip to the Bay State to take on #17 Williams College. While Colby was coming off one of the biggest victories in program history (10-9 win against #9 Wesleyan Saturday), the Ephs were looking to regain their footing after a setback against the Bowdoin Polar Bears.
Williams played strong from the onset, building a 4-1 lead after the first fifteen minutes, and extending the lead to 10-3 at the break. The Mules saw first half goals from Ryan Darby, Jack Goller, and Jack Richards.
During the second half, Colby fought to narrow the score, tallying six goals in the third period to enter the fourth quarter with the score 14-9. Williams took control of the final frame, scoring five goals to Colby's one, and holding possession for a 19-10 win. Rickards was the top scorer on the day for the Mules, raising his season total to nine goals with three in Williamstown. Noah Froio had two goals and one assist for three points. Calvin Caputo, Jake Haase, and Pearse Galvin tallie dfour goals apiece for the Ephs.
Colby is back in action Saturday when they host the Hamilton College Continentals on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
