Waterville, Maine - In the final game of spring break, the Colby College Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Hamilton Continentals on Seaverns Field. Behind an astounding 24 saves from goaltender Seamus Fagan, the visitors took a low-scoring affair, 7-2.
Despite entering the match with a 3-3 record, Hamilton's three losses were extremely closes battles. They lost to Bowdoin and Conn. College by only one goal, and to Amherst by two. Colby had an amazing victory in Waterville the week before, defeating #9 Wesleyan and jumping into the USA Lacrosse rankings at #19.
Hamilton collected two goals in the first quarter and one more at the onset of the second, establishing a 3-0 lead.
Jack Rickards tallied his team-leading 10th goal of the season to bring the score to 3-1 at half time. The Continentals scored at the onset of the third quarter, but
Jack Goller was able to match with his sixth score of the season. Hamilton added three more goals to close out the game, and Fagan turned away nine Colby shots on goal in the final 15 minutes.
Colby is back in action Tuesday when they head to Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine for a 7:00pm match.
