Clermont, Florida- The Colby Softball Team played two games today down in Florida. The first game was against Hamilton College, where they would face a tough 6-8 loss to the Continentals. The Mules then played Union College where they would be shutout 6-0.

Sam Ahlholm started against the Continentals, preventing the Continentals from scoring a run through the first two innings. Colby through two innings had a 2-0 lead, with runs coming from a
Logan Luebbe double and a single from
Lauren Ilano. Ahlholm pitched a total of 4.1 impressive innings, striking out three and allowing four hits. Colby took a larger lead with
Chloe Wilcox and
Logan Luebbe collecting RBIs for the Mules to take a 5-1 lead. Hamilton would score seven runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-5 lead over the Mules. Senior
Laura Powell hit the first home run of the season of the Mules to cut Hamilton's lead to 8-6, but would fall short in the comeback, despite a strong effort.

In game two,
Abby Orso would pitch the whole game for the Mules. Union would jump to a 1-0 lead in the third inning and would continue to add onto the lead for the rest of the game. A tough 6-0 loss for the Mules today, but
Abby Orso pitched a complete game, striking out eight Union College hitters and only allowing six hits in the game. Orso and
Logan Luebbe also tallied hits for the Mules in this game, with one each.

The Mules will next play tomorrow Monday, March 21, in Clermont, Florida, with games against Wellesley College at 10:00 AM and The College of Wooster at 12:15 PM.
