Box Score Wellesley, MA - The Colby Women's Tennis Team narrowly edged out Wellesley College by a score of 5-4 on Saturday, March 12. It was the first match for the Mules after a long pre-season and to take out 27th ranked Wellesley, 5 ranking spots higher than the 32nd ranked Mules, is an excellent start to the season.

The Sophomore duo of Sam Riordan and Sydney Landau punched the Mules their first point in the doubles with an 8-4 win. With singles wins from Carly Levitz, Riordan, Landau, and Lindsey Hernandez, the Mules earned the 5 points they needed to get the victory. Landau's 13-11 third-set match tiebreak win was a dramatic finish to a grind of a day for CWT.

"Slow start but we rocked it," said Hernandez, summing up a 1-2 deficit after the doubles, but clinching the match in the singles. The Mules will rest up to take on Brandeis University in Waltham, MA on Sunday, March 13th. Look for updates on the Colby Tennis Twitter and Athletics page.
