Norton, Mass. - The Mules hit the road to compete at Wheaton for their first road contest in two long years. The wait did not stop Colby from dominating. The women's team started a winning streak for their season and won the meet with 166 points, while the men's team came in 3rd with 96 points.
Highlights on the women's side include a 1st through 5th place sweep in the 500m dash (Lottie Franck 1:21.22,
Kristina Pizzi 1:21.44,
Charlotte Freniere 1:21.90,
Annah Rossvall 1:22.92,
Fiona Mejico 1:22.95). And another 1st through 3rd place sweep in the triple jump (
Sharde Johnson 11.29m,
Kassie Brink 10.82m,
Lily Matson 10.70m). Other event winners include
Claire Beebe in the 3k (10:55.03),
Christina Speliakos in the 60m hurdles (9.32),
Sharde Johnson in the high jump (1.66m), and the Colby women's 4x400 team (4:04.10).
On the men's side, event scorers included 3rd place
Raghav Kadambi (1:09.45), 5th place
Ben Giesser (1:10.00), and 6th place
John Silberman (1:11.17) in the 500m. Men's distance crew took 2nd through 4th place in the 1k. First-year
Liam Carcich (2:37.65),
Nick Peterson (2:38.53), and
JT Munz (2:38.54).
Tanner Burton took 3rd in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.42. The 4x400 (3:32.48) and the 4x800 (8:25.85) also took 2nd place finishes.
With a solid start to the indoor season, The Mules look to continue their success at Bates on the 22nd.
