Augusta, MAINE - The Colby Golf team continued their season Wednesday, participating in the 2021 Mariner Invitational at Augusta Country Club. The Mules finished third out of eight teams.  

The University of New England won the day, as USM touted the top golfer, John Welch, who took the top step of the podium shooting 73 (+3).  Colby slid in behind the University of Southern Maine (+33) and ahead of Husson University (+46), finishing the day with a score of 323, +43. The Mules have been trailing the Eagles from Husson over the last several matches. 

Sophomores Jack Sullivan (headline photo) and Jacob Teszler were the stand-out performers for the Colby golfers, shooting +9 (79) and +10 (80) respectively. The match also featured a strong performance from Justin Grillo and Jake MacDonald, who both finished +12 with a score of 82. 

The Mules will continue their battle against Husson when they head to Bangor Saturday for the Husson Invitational.  First tee time is slated for 9:00am.
