McMaster Stiff in Net, Mules Fall to Camels

New London, Conn. - The Colby Women's Soccer team traveled to New London, Conn. Sunday to play the Conn. College Camels.  The match comes a day after the Mules opened their NESCAC schedule with a 0-0 tie at Trinity.  The Mules fell to the Camels, with a final score of 0-2.

McMasterWhile the first half opened with an early goal by the Camels, Emily McMaster '25 (photo left) had a strong performance in goal holding off an aggressive Conn. offense, saving eight shots in the first half and adding four more later on. The Mules retaliated with two shots on the goal by Lily Fagan '24 and Juliette Nadeau '21, but neither landed.

The Mules came out strong in the second half, with three shots on goal, two from Chloe Schiff '23 and one from Corrigan Rayhill '24. Both teams played scrappy with multiple fouls on both teams. In the end, the team effort and McMaster's strong performance were not enough to hold off a second goal from the Camels, resulting in the two-score deficit.

The Mules are now 1-1-1 on the season, next facing UMF in Farmington at 4PM EST on Tuesday, September 21st.
