Farmington, MAINE - The Colby Women's Soccer team traveled to Farmington and emerged victorious against the University of Maine - Farmington Beavers by a score of 3-0. Colby improves to 2-1-1 on the season while UMF falls to 1-6.
While the first period ended scoreless, the Mules proved dominant with possession and field position outshooting the Beavers with four attempts to zero. The first half effort set the stage for an action-packed second half.
The first goal of the game was scored by Lily Fagan '24 in the first five minutes of the second period. The Mules kept the pressure on, with two more shots on goal each by Fagan as well as
Jackie Portogallo '24, but UMF keeper Callie Hammer kept the net clean and the Beavers in the match. Colby's attack proved too much as
Charlotte White '22 and
Ellie Hankin '23 (cover photo) each recorded their first scores of the year. The Colby defense was impressive, holding the Beavers scoreless with only two total attempts on goal.
The Mules next play at home against Tufts University on Saturday, September 25 at 12:30 PM EST.
