Waterville, Maine - A beautiful end to a beautiful day on the Hill, the Colby Men's Lacrosse team had a decisive win against Husson University scoring 27 goals to their 3.

GAME NOTES: While it is still early in the season and both teams have many tactical concepts to work on, the Mules made a show of their home opener, going up early and only increasing the margin between them and their opponent.  Many players came off the bench to give starters a rest and show the depth of the team.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MULES: 

• The team scored a total of 27 goals with 13 different goal scorers.

• Matt Savage (4), Henry Popko (21), Zach Liston (36), Nolan Zusi (47), and Miles Tonkel (49) all had their first collegiate goals this evening scoring a total of nine goals.

• The Mules played aggressive defense, allowing the Eagles only 7 shots.

• Davis Strabley (38) caused the most turnovers for his team tonight with 4 total.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE EAGLES: 

• Gunner McAlister (5), Darryn Bailey (6), and Matthew Boynton (14) each scored a goal for the Eagles.

• The Eagles had 15 ground balls on the night.

• Husson was successful in executing their man-up play in the fourth quarter.

KEY STATS:

• Turnovers were about equal for the two teams despite the extreme difference in score.

• Colby won 27 of the 33 face-offs, each one providing an opportunity to settle into an offence.

• 13 different Mules scored a goal in the contest, led by Mason Brady with four and Charlie Lynch, Popko, and Bill Jacobs with three each.  

NEXT MATCHUP: The Mules travel to Williams College this Saturday to play the Ephs at 1pm.  They will then have a week off before another NESCAC match-up Saturday the 14th.
