Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams welcomed the Amherst Mammoths for their home opener. The men's team battled Amherst closer than recent years, but fell 183.5-107.5. The women fell 213-86.
The men's team claimed the top step of the podium in five different events. Last week's NESCAC Performer of the Week John Connors once again took the victory in the 200 yard Freestyle. Nate Cordick took the gold in the 1000 yard and 500 yard Freestyle events. Darrel Choi won the 200 yard and 100 yard Butterfly races. These five victories combined with the rest of the men's performances for a total of 18 podium places.
The women's team had three different event winners. Addie Paige won the 1000 yard Freestyle, Melissa Lomas won the 200 yard Backstroke, and Jess Leong won the 100 yard Butterfly. The women's team totaled 12 podiums on the day.
The Mules are next competing on December 6 and 7 at Bowdoin College for the Maine State Meet.
